About Bitcoin
Bitcoin (BTC) was proposed by Satoshi Nakamoto in a 2008 white paper and the network went live in January 2009. It is a decentralized digital currency based on a peer-to-peer network and proof of work: transactions are validated by nodes across the network and recorded on the blockchain without any central issuer.
